Manuel Reyes passed away on Apr 12 2022 from Colon Cancer he was in the Broadcasting Industry especially in the Spanish Speaking Community since 1984 during his career he worked with a lot of radio TV and colleges including

he spent the past 20+ years at KZSF La Kaliente 1370 AM located in San Jose Manuel broke barriers & becoming a pioneer by introducing Mexican Banda to the San Francisco Bay Area in the 80’s and 90s he use to work as a promoter for Marquez Brother Entertainment after he quietly retired in 2020 he worked for 3yrs @ KTGE Radio Tigre 1570Am in Salinas CA for a few years he currently resting in peace along side his mother @ Alta Mesa Memorial Park located in Palo Alto CA
He was married to his wife Margarita back on April 29 1984 in Redwood City CA a few years later having 3 kids Alejandro “Alex” Emily & Ivana living peacefully in Fremont On Jan 1 2001 His son is the proud owner of DJ Alex Reyes Entertainment and proudly serving the SF Bay Area and beyond since Jan 1 2001 his son used to work as a councilman for the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities based in Sacramento he proudly represented the Bay Area region Mar 30 2022 – July 26 2025 he will forever carry proudly his fathers legacy though Music.
Manuel Reyes use to work for Alaska Airlines from 1996-1998 as a Custermer service agent or (CSA) at San Diego and San Jose International Airport he left aviation after the crash of Alaska Airlines flight# 261 back on Jan 31, 2000 for a few years had a fear of flying but eventually he confronted his fear and flew again! We have been sharing his story to Relay for Life to inspire others to know that people battling caner know that they are not a lot alone in the fight against cancer!

on getting an honorary resolution to honor our father but hope we can also honor our son’s accomplishments as well because we have followed in our fathers footsteps and became a successful person here is what I accomplished:
01 DJ Alex Reyes Entertainment celebrates 25yrs in the entertainment industry the owner Alejandro”Alex” Reyes has Cerebral Palsy (CP) but despite his disability and challenge he has defined the odds and proved that people with disabilities can die anything if they put their mind to it
02 Alejandro “Alex” Reyes has worked in Government he’s a former councilman for the California State Council Developmental Disabilities proudly representing the Bay Area from 2022-2025 during his time in office he and the council worked on making changes including passing
SB639 Elimination of Minimum wage for the disabled now its equal pay
AB248 Banning the offensive R word from state Law (Wish it was federalized)
Big changes to the Rehab act espacially for people with disabilities!
